St. John the Baptist, Clayton is a 'little gem'. Nestling below the South Downs it contains significant medieval frescoes covering most of the walls. It is well worth a visit and usually open daily. St Johns is home to a friendly and welcoming congregation whose main service is each Sunday at 11.15am The pattern of services includes those from the Book of Common Prayer and Common Worship. There is a family service on the first Sunday of each month. We begin with refreshments and childrens activities in the hall from 10.30am before moving in to the church at 11.15am for a short and informal service.
On the other side of the lane through Clayton is the Church Hall which has a fully equiped kitchen and toilets including disabled toilets and disabled access. It has parking and is next to a childrens play park and playing field. For enquries on hiring the hall, please contact Mrs Debbie Pateman 01273 843985
